Stained Glass

Group Description :

The Stained Glass making Group meet at Ramsbottom Library from 6:30pm - 9pm  every other Tuesday during the Spring, Autumn and Winter months.

Its a place for those new to stained glass to  learn the basic skills of handling glass, designing, selecting pieces, choosing colours and textures and begin to create beautiful objects. For more experienced stained glass creators a place to work, share ideas, learn from each other and have fun in our warm and welcoming group.

As we become more established we hope to arrange visits to meet local Stained-Glass Artists and Restorers at work and visit local glass suppliers/ buildings / studios with interesting stained-glass windows to give us inspiration as we create more elaborate pieces with foil or lead came.

Whether you are a novice interested in acquiring the skills needed to create your own stained glass masterpiece or a skilled creator your more then welcome to join our group.

You will need to purchase your own glass and some basic inexpensive personal tools and solder. Glass grinders and soldering irons as well as consumable items such as foil, flux and patina will be supplied. (for more information please click on the blue oblong at the top right)
