Come and learn a bit more about children’s literature.
Perhaps you want to know a bit more about what’s on offer for your grandkids, maybe you want to have a go at writing some yourself or maybe you still quite like reading it.
We’ll look at just a little bit of the history of children’s literature. Then we’ll work through the age groups looking at picture books, books for new readers, books for more fluent readers, books for confident readers, books for teenagers and books for young adults. Each week there will be the opportunity to meet new books and, if you wish, to have a go at writing some yourself.
We may even take a trip to the special collection of children’s books at MMU’s library.
Gill has an MA in Writing for Children and a PhD about the Young Adult novel. She has written several YA novels.
