Access Working Group


Group Description :

This is a working group that explores matters relating to disability and inclusion and how to make access to venues and participation in group activities easier for all concerned. It reports to the Bury Board of Trustees and is represented at their bi-monthly meetings. It relies on input from members and welcomes any who are interested in these issues, either on their own account or more generally.

We meet downstairs at the Bury Museum and Gallery on Moss Street. Entry is via the ramp to the right of the main steps, and an automatic door. Access to WiFi is available.

Our group, being a working group, is a little different from other u3a groups, but we are still friendly and chatty and will welcome your input.

Currently, we meet 10.30 am to 12pm on the first Friday of each month to discuss progress with the projects being undertaken by members, and any general concerns related to our remit.

 You can help us by joining the group, either as a regular member, or by joining us on a short-term basis to help us understand the issues facing individual members. We also need help to become better acquainted with aspects of mainstream technology which could improve access to some u3a activities.
