Sewing For Pleasure

Group Description :
Come stitch and socialise with our lively sewing group! We meet to share our love of sewing over coffee and biscuits, swapping tips, dressmaking and tailoring help, craft ideas, patterns and plenty of laughs.

Whether you're into making clothes, crafting home décor, or experimenting with creative projects. You’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine and work on personal or group projects at your own pace. Our members include both women and men. Moving forward, each session will include a 10-minute “new or review” segment — a quick, hands-on tutorial covering useful techniques like new stitches, button holes, or taking up trousers.

We are also looking into creating a group piece of work to benefit a local charity or cause as a one off project. Our leader Dorene has a wealth of experience in the fabric industry as a seamstress, but we all learn from one another, and everyone is generous with their knowledge.
